This blog does not contain the words used in “Mahatma: A Scientist of the Intuitively Obvious”, still I consider it useful to present it to my readers; because I am convinced that the book can never be treated as having been completed unless many readers decide to complete it.

Vinayak Narhari Bhave, popularly known as Vinoba Bhave, believed to be spiritual successor of Gandhi said;

We have seen from experience that if we are in a habit of walking regularly on the same road, we are able to think about other things while walking, without paying attention to our steps.

Whether working to earn bread to feed our families and ourselves, satisfying our needs that are necessary for our survival, making a weeping child smile or helping an old woman by carrying her bag on our shoulders is any different from walking on the same road regularly? We all are capable of maintaining our lives. All living beings know how to survive. Do we need to watch our steps in doing so? Normally, we need not. However, if our steps cross or obstruct the path of ‘others’, who also need to survive in this world; will it not be necessary for us to think about them? If we do not have a tradition of not harming others, we would be harmed.

If we have learned not to harm others what else we need to think about? To attain eternal happiness, of course. Is it not the purpose of our life?

To attain lasting happiness, first of all we have to become harmless; then, we have to make our life very simple, with no fuss; so that we can ‘think about’ how to be happy and contended.
