Yoga
(योग) means addition. If we physically try to add
two to two with equanimity of mind and utmost selflessness the outcome could be
much bigger than four. Here, I have attempted to discuss something that is not
much talked about. Yoga is being popularized on a plane that is rather more
physical than what it ought to be. What happens if we work with our mind and
intellect, and a little beyond it? I have found that many people work on
themselves at a slightly elevated plane to see that the things around them work
a little better. People take them to be more dedicated than others, rather than
as some experts on Yoga.
If
people could come together and make selfless efforts with equanimity of mind
for the benefit of all, they might unknowingly push themselves in the realm of
universal consciousness. Such togetherness, that they have little experience
with, enhances the output of their efforts manifolds. No, it is not a miracle.
It is a reality, we all are well aware of. When we work individually and
separately; our fears, our selfishness and our vacillating minds never allow us
to give what we are capable of giving. Please permit me to emphasize that here
I used the word ‘giving’, instead of ‘achieving’. The sense is that we ‘give
individually’, but ‘achieve collectively’.
When people come
together on “International Day of Yoga”, maybe, some would think of वसुधैव
कुटुम्बकम.
“vASUDHAIVA kUTUMKAM’
MEANS THE eNTIRE EARTH IS ONE fAMILY.
Let us hope,
things also move in such a direction.
