ONE:
We try to
seek happiness in our lives without working on ourselves. We often fail.
Our life is
not our goal. It is a tool granted to us by the one whom we call God. One can
use his life as a tool. He can use it for peaceful contemplation and
introspection; thereby refining his conduct, assiduously but patiently. This is
the process one may use to seek happiness. This is a process that guarantees
steady progress.
TWO:
Having been born as living being we need some objects for our survival.
We must use them with care and cautions so that such objects are also available
to others as well as our future generations. One who consumes more than his
needs or expands his needs to include conveniences, comforts and luxuries;
harms his surroundings, his future generations and himself. He becomes a
‘fallen man’.
THREE:
Material objects are for satisfying our needs. We should not develop
attachment for them. Attachment for them always becomes a cause for sorrow and
pain. Using a living being, particularly human beings, to satisfy one’s needs
and desires is inhuman. Using other human beings for one’s pleasure and comfort
is a ‘demon-like’ quality.
FOUR:
How can we surrender to God when we don’t even know Him? But, we know
what He has created and is always concerned about. All living beings, including
all human beings, are created by God. Serving humanity without any self
interests is equivalent to serving God.
FIVE:
This world is not an illusion because we can see it. Perhaps, the world
that we cannot see, whether within us or without, also exists; because ‘there’,
the cause of this world may be existing. ‘This world’ is no illusion and ‘that
world’ is not mere imagination.
We are an insignificant part of something that continues for ever and is
well connected with its infinite parts. This thought gives a meaning to our
lives. And, when we serve others without expecting anything in return, we
contribute in continuation of all that exists, visible or invisible. This gives
a purpose to our lives.
