I don’t
see anything working as aimlessly and as inefficiently as politics in a
democratic system. There is a colossal waste of resources, time and energy. Most
of the time politicians are found doing things that they never intended to do.
And, ultimately what is delivered to the people is never the thing that would
ever benefit them.
I suspect that many honest, straightforward and well intention-ed political leaders begin to make money through unfair means when they realize
that it was the only thing that could be done effectively after having acquired
the political power. Perhaps, that is the reason the politics in a democratic
system has become a good breeding ground for corruption.
A mandate from a majority of the citizens does not give a
license to anyone to grossly mismanage affairs of the people. We don’t have a
theory that could help us in rectifying this situation. Perhaps, unwavering right
conduct of some politicians, with no let up, would evolve some theory we have
no clue about so far.
We need truthful experimenters in politics that have enormous
tenacity and strength of character to treat what ails the politics.
