Out of the physical, intellectual and spiritual
aspects of human life, it is only the spiritual aspect that can help one in
coming out of the worst kind of all gone situation. However, for this there are
two conditions; and, they both are necessary and sufficient. The first is that
one must have faith that he is not as lifeless as a stone, and, that he shares
his life with others. The second is that one must be prepared to make a
commitment to himself that he would stop repeating any mistakes of the past.
Unfortunately,
most people do not satisfy the above two conditions, though they are not really
the very difficult ones.
There
is an Indian mythological story. Lord Krishna warned a devil that he would forgive
him for 99 of his mistakes, but not for the 100th one. The devil committed
the 100th mistake. Lord Krishna killed him. Incidentally, the most
appropriate way to define a devil is, ‘a devil is the one who thinks he has a
legitimate right over others’ lives’.
