The first three Shlokas of the
XVI Chapter of Shrimad_Bhagvad_Geeta enumerate twenty six (26) Satwik Gunas (qualities)
and have named them as “Daivi Sampada”. Journey of Geeta from II
Chaper to XV Cahapter suggests that one who is born on this earth can progress
better on the path of Mukti (freedom) if he or she is well settled in
these Satwik Gunas (the Godlike
qualities). As against this, those who remain involved with Rajasi or Tamasik Gunas are reborn as animals or inferior human
beings.
Let us not worry about or argue about
Mukti or Moksha after our death or being reborn in
inferior forms of life; let us only think about our existing life and what we
are going to leave for the world after
our death in the form of our future generations.
When we are born on this earth we do
not bring anything tangible and everlasting with us to offer to this world,
except, perhaps, some genetic imprints and Sanskaras . Similarly, when
we leave, we may be carrying over the similar kinds of intangibles to our next
life. For me, personally, the signs of rebirth have cleared the ‘Memory Test’
in my very early childhood; hence, I accept it for my use. But, I do not insist
that others must also believe in rebirth.
But, I have no hesitation in
accepting that my life, my thoughts and my emotions have been greatly influenced
by many, who have already left this world. There is no doubt that my words, my
thoughts and my deeds are not that much of mine as anybody would like to
believe in. They are someone else’s, who is no more. Will it be incorrect to
say that the one who has already left this world is ‘reborn’ in my body?
