FACILITATING CHANGE

Constantly being in the company of those who think one wants to think about and doing things one wants to do is the least difficult of the ways for effecting desired changes in oneself.

Leaving the company of those who think the way one does not want to think and do things one does not want to do is also helpful, if one has necessary ability to make serious and sincere efforts to change and is strongly committed to bringing about desired changes in oneself.

Even people with extraordinary resolve fail to change if they are in the wrong company. The modern lifestyle is a big obstacle in bringing about such changes in oneself that are contrary to the modern way of thinking and conduct. Fierce resolve; enough solitude to enable one to live in the company of thought provoking books and scriptures; the habit of introspection; tenacity to overpower temptations and distractions; an unusual fighting spirit to win over one’s own failures; readiness to rectifying one’s mistakes; and ability to bear with the neglect, ridicule and opposition of the outside world; are the qualities one must possess to change himself in the modern age.

Apart from all the things that a person, who has succeeded in changing himself in the right direction, wants to do, he must also try to identify others who wish to change themselves and give them company. Addition is good for individuals; one has to resort to multiplying to facilitate changes in the society.
