VAGDEVI SPIRITUAL PROCESS [#16152] THE MOST URGENT BUSINESS

We should not go on postponing the process of making efforts to listen to our inner voice and to connect ourselves with our inner self, whatever the compulsions may be. We cannot ‘live’ in this world floating in a void. Maybe, a few of us can try to convince themselves that they are exceptionally bold to realize that they came to this world as ‘outsiders’, and, would, ultimately, leave this world without carrying with them an imprint of their meaningless life with them. If and when, this happens with a few among us, it happens very temporarily. Most of this kind, unceremoniously, abandon their futile efforts and join the majority who keep on greedily hovering over their sweet lives like innumerable seasonal flies who appear in this world for a short span of time, trying to push others away while being pushed by others to gather as much ‘exciting sweetness of life’ as may be possible.

Viewing the ‘exciting sweetness of life’ and the ‘perfect meaninglessness of life’ as two sides of the same coin, undoubtedly, is a strange perception that we, ‘the most intelligent species on this earth’, hold, proudly arguing about ‘the truth’ of the side of the coin that is, by chance, visible to us; because of the circumstance we are placed in. The fact, most bewildering, is that no one ever appreciates if he is told that his intelligence is confined to the time and circumstance of his existence.

To know, what the life really is, it is important to connect to our innermost sensibilities, not influenced by the time and circumstances, we are forced to live in. There cannot be a better frame of reference than our internal self that is not tarnished due to the happening of the external world. As the time passes the excitements of life or the apathy towards the external world do not allow our internal self to remain as unblemished as it must be. Yes, as the time passes, we lose sight of the point of reference much needed for accurate viewing of our own life in the context of the external world or otherwise. Notwithstanding our ownership of the precious tool of decisive intellect that distinguishes us from other living entities, we may become helpless components of the universe, if we find, at a later stage, that we are not able to set and align our tools to know what can be known, or rather, must be known. There cannot be a more urgent and compelling business, in one’s life, than that of knowing what the life is all about.
