We cannot think of victory without a defeat
linked to it. No believer in the God would ever like to imagine the God as a
loser. Does it imply that the timeless infinite continuum of the God’s creation
is composed of the entities that have been defeated in the hands of the God? If
yes, then, what is so flattering about our winning a few battles in our
lifetime? Further, who all are defeated when we win? Are they ‘others’ or
‘parts of us’?
The
concept, theory and practice of victory and the defeat, as made out to us, is
flawed and threatening to human dignity. Whenever we think about winning over
some circumstances or material entities, a concurrent thought of defeat
overwhelms us; and we in perpetual fear of some inevitable defeat.
If
we modify our thoughts and have faith in a part of the God always existing with
us and within us, the crisis gets resolved. We will, then, work for ensuring
that the spiritual entity within us comes out as a winner, defeating what is
trivial, irrelevant, devilish and mundane within us. In such battles, our
resolve to eliminate what must be eliminated and our efforts will count. Our
eyes shall, then, be on construction, not on destruction; hence, there shall be
no fear of our being defeated or destroyed without our consent. All other games
of victory and defeat are only the parts of the processes of our life, not
demanding any special attention or attachment, except for a little care to
ensure that the life’s processes continue as long as they are allowed by the
laws of the nature.
