WE HAVE LIMITED ROLES TO PLAY IN OUR WORLDLY LIVES

It is not only by virtue of the fact that we do not live longer, but also due to our own limitations to change according to the time and circumstances that we have no option, but to accept that we have limited roles to play in our worldly lives. If and when, we excessively indulge in the affairs of the world that we create troubles not only for us, and also, become a cause of trouble for our surroundings, immediate or remote.

From the time when we have understood a few things about the world we live in, and, thereby, have matured enough to contribute our bit to the world, till we begin to become somewhat irrelevant to the world around us, there is a short time that may be viewed as a ‘productive’ time of our life in the worldly sense. It is not that the balance parts of our lives have no use for us or for the world. In fact, such ‘not so productive times’ of our lives, if allowed to be spent according to the laws of the nature, are as useful to the world as the nature itself is. The utility of our lives, for us as well as for the others, greatly enhances, if we learn to give away the reins of our lives to the nature instead of holding it tightly to the best of our mental and intellectual caliber, during such ‘not so productive’ times of our lives.

Physical work utilizing our body for our survival is perfectly natural because it does not lead to infringement of the natural needs and rights of the others. However, intellectual work is useful only if done with utmost care to support the activities of the nature whose only implications are preserving the universe and support its growth in the right direction. Precisely, this is the area that has to be handled with utmost precision and caution. Over indulgence with intellectual work to fulfill our mundane desires is grossly unnatural; and hence threatening to life in the entire universe. To understand and appreciate this theory, no amount of knowledge of science and/or scriptures can replace the honest experiments carried out by one in his life and the experiences gathered thereby.
