THE RELIGION OF FAITH

If someone claims that he is the most useful person on the earth, you may not pay any attention to him. But, if someone claimed that he belonged to the best religion on the earth, he might succeed in hurting feelings on many.

A religion to a man is like his parents are to a child. For a child his or her parents are the best; he turns to them for all the support he or she needs. Similarly, a man looks at his religion to seek guidance in the moments of crisis in his life.

One’s religion is a matter of sacred belief for him; it is not a matter of pride. Belief and faith are for gaining internal strength; they are not external issues for comparison and public debate. If some drawbacks have crept into some religious practices, due to unfavouable circumstances or otherwise, they can always be corrected by the right minded religious leaders and followers of the same religion, internally. True faith gives freedom and negates captivity. The one, who tells others that his religion is the best, perhaps, has some doubts about his own religion; in all likelihood, he lacks sufficient faith in his religion. His opinion in the matters of the heart cannot be relied upon.

Like all other man-made things, all the religions also lack utmost perfection. It is the duty of the leaders and the followers of their respective religions to respectfully and continually nurture their religions and make them perfect according to the time, space and circumstances.
