ACCOMMODATING THE DEVIL BUT QUESTIONING THE GOD

We are not sure of the strength of our character and righteousness of our conduct. Hence, we meekly accept much that is worth rejecting. However, we have a hidden but constant desire to prove to ourselves and the others that we value what is right and truthful, therefore, we question everything and everyone that has nothing to hide. That exactly is the reason why the world is fast becoming a comfortable place for those selfish people with violent minds who harm others and much of an irritant for those who are upright and truthful.

We are moving in a vicious circle. Unless the good is allowed to have its way, the evil would flourish. All those who look for trivial physical pleasures of life and are fearful of losing them would avoid taking the side of the good and thereby coming in the way of the evil. It is only our shortsightedness that prompts us to accommodate the evil. We don’t see even as far as to realize that the evil serves none but itself.

But, we do have a latent desire to be on the side of justice, righteousness and truth. Why is it that we usually don’t have even a few words to support the truth? I won’t blame timidity as much as our repulsion to the inconvenience of action. A small bird acts when it sees a crumb of food; it also acts when it anticipates danger. It does not know what inconvenience of action is. The modern man thinks that his efforts for earning his livelihood that more or  less satisfies him is enough of his duty and enough of the action he is capable of performing. The concept of the God, the Divine laws , the universal justice or the truth does not apply to ‘you’ or ‘me’ alone, it uniformly  applies to ‘us’, to all the living beings.

Our actions do not end with our having earned our livelihood. We have to bear with the inconvenience of action for the cause of the truth; it is our duty; for, if we fail, we will suffer, today or tomorrow. If we are agile enough to counter the impending dangers to the universal justice, according to our abilities and capacities, maybe, we would have no occasion to be ashamed of our timidity. If we become concerned for our duties the courage as a quality would automatically come upon us.
