Perfect
selflessness is submerging one’s ego into the vastness and the depth of
universality. Getting rid of one’ ego is
practically impossible. Moreover, our social life and our efforts for survival
in the physical world necessitate existence of ‘healthy ego’ in us. An ego that
is attached to the thought of our universal existence is a ‘healthy ego’.
Selfless service is not that much a matter of compassion that
may give rise to a sense of pride in us, and thereby no longer remains a
selfless act. It is a duty to which all human beings are compulsorily bound.
The thought that when we serve someone, we, in fact, serve
the universe, not an individual, must be transmitted to the one who is served.
The one, who is served without selfish interests, must also feel encouraged to
perform his part of duty of serving others that is the universe, selflessly.
The thought of selfless service is all pervading, that we must realize.
