We
human beings are different from other living beings, because we have the
ability to influence our actions, which the other living beings do not have. In
other words, while we can influence the course of our lives, the other living
beings cannot. The nature looks after the welfare of all, us and the other
living beings. Then, why is it that a few among us live better and very many
suffer?
The history of the mankind evidences that the man has made
much use of his thinking ability. We are aware of the great strides made by the
mankind in structuring his societies, discovering the unknown and inventing
what had never been in existence earlier with the intention of making the human
life physically more and more secure and comfortable than ever before. However,
the outcome of the efforts made by the man had been far from satisfactory. Does
that mean that the man thought the way he shouldn’t have thought?
Maybe, the man thought much about the things that deserved
lesser of his attention and neglected to think about things that actually needed
more of his attention. Or, perhaps, he failed to view his life the way he
should have viewed it. Whatever might have been the reason behind his failure,
the more important question before us is, whether we have realized the error of
the past, and if we have done it, what we are doing to rectify it?
After living on the
planet earth for thousands of years, have we learned what to think about and
how to think rightly? We all are thinking, day in and day out, but, have we
become more thoughtful than the past? That is the question we must answer,
before it is too late?
