Unconditional
surrender is at the root of wisdom, science and knowledge. All the three seek
the truth. The truth cannot be explored without total commitment towards it.
What is unconditional surrender and total commitment? If they are the intense
feelings of the heart, on what material vehicles they ride on? Why there is a
need for a material vehicle? Things of the heart, intellect, the ‘I am-ness’
and the five elements (fire, water, sky, earth and air) have material nature,
unlike the soul, which has a spiritual nature, which is the ultimate truth. In
this life we have no option but to go through the material route to reach
closer to the truth. That is why there is a need for a ‘material vehicle’.
The material vehicle that we can
ride on to approach closer to the truth is made up by our good deeds. The good
deeds are a material expression of the truth, because they help the Creator in
taking care of His creation.
How can we identify ‘good deeds’
out of the plethora of actions and activities that we compulsively carry out to
fulfill our needs? It is said that we come to know about them by worshiping
our wise ancestors who dedicated their lives for the welfare of all the living
beings and the nature. We worship them as the incarnations, representatives of
the God or numerous deities of impeccable character and strength.
We, therefore, can neither set
aside the knowledge, the sciences or any other ways that lead us to the truth,
nor can we leave worshiping the God and doing good deeds. There is no short cut
on the path leading to the truth.
