VAGDEVI SPIRITUAL PROCESS [#17211] THE NONSENSE OF FEAR

Most people do not have enough courage to do the right things. Many people refrain from doing the wrong things to avoid any harm to them as a consequence thereof. In both the situations the human fear is found to be the dominating force to guide the human conduct. Perhaps, a timid inference is that the humanity, somehow, survives on the strength of ‘human fear'.

Is it not true that each one of us has been reminded, several times in our lifetimes, that human life is a wonderful experience? But, neither have we accepted it, nor have we rejected it; we have only listened to it, never to remember it thereafter. Does it mean that all that we are taught by others, even by those who have learned many lessons from the human life, fail to influence us?

If that actually is the case, then, who or what, may, generally, be blamed for this disaster? Aren’t we very preoccupied with the idea to keep on living, somehow, for as long as we can? Are we unduly obsessed with the fear of death, for, if that is right, then, we would always find it very difficult to nurture the emotion of courage, which can make us a little more competent to know a few things about the right and the wrong, the truth and the untruth? Nothing truly wonderful can ever be experienced without stepping into the realm of the unknown; and to face the unknown, we need courage.

We must be willing and courageous to do what we believe to be right. We must be aware of what is wrong, and, must have conviction and courage for not accepting what is not right. There is no short cut to experiencing how wonderful life is. Life has nothing to do with degeneration and death. Each moment appears before us with all its freshness and novelty, there is not even an iota of staleness associated with it. We must experience it ourselves that we cannot learn anything worth learning unless we abandon the nonsense of fear.
